Fathom Product Updates and New Features

Edited

About This Log

We update this page weekly with a quick summary of what’s new, improved, or updated in Fathom. Think of it as a “week in review” rather than a real-time feed - some changes may appear a few days after they go live.

We focus on user-facing updates you’ll actually notice, so you won’t see every minor tweak or behind-the-scenes improvement listed here. Any features marked with [TE] are for our Team Edition users only.

If you have any questions about what you're seeing, our Support Team is here to help!

June 2025

  • [TE] Compliance setting for editing and trimming transcripts - there is now a team-level Compliance setting (Settings > Organization Settings) to allow (or disallow) team members to make changes to Fathom-generated meeting transcripts.

  • [TE] New external recording visibility settings - Admins can now access a setting to configure default external recording access at a company and team level. Admins can migrate now or wait until August 1, when everyone will be automatically migrated. Learn more.

  • [TE] Users page usability updates - Admins will now see a cleaner layout with separate tabs for users, invitees, and deactivated users. We've also added pagination of user lists, simplified role management, and upgraded invite controls (assign teams, re-send invites, and cancel as needed).

  • Limited call access feature update - Fathom now allows users with Limited call access to copy a recording's transcript, action items, and follow-up email.

  • Removed in-meeting summaries of Highlights - we’ve removed the ability to view a summary of Highlights during a call. Summaries will still be available on the recording page after the meeting ends.

May 2025

  • [TE] New custom dictionaries - Team Admins can now add terms to improve the accuracy of transcriptions by recognizing company-specific words, acronyms, product names, or industry jargon. Learn more.

  • [TE] Team Settings page refresh - gave the Team Settings page a refresh for better consistency and readability.

April 2025

  • [TE] Auto-share recordings with internal attendees - this grants standard access permissions to teammates regardless of their user settings. Learn more.

  • [TE] New compliance settings - added global settings to prevent recording downloads and deletion. Learn more.

March 2025

  • [TE] Updated logic behind "first to record" setting - this now determines which bot starts recording based on actual admission to the meeting, improving accuracy and reducing confusion when multiple bots join simultaneously. Only the identified first bot will continue recording, while others will be blocked from joining. Learn more.

  • Updated company logo display logic - calls with companies under 500 employees now display a building icon instead of a logo, improving visual clarity and indicating company size more effectively.

  • Delete comments on recordings - users can now delete comments on calls by hitting the ellipsis next to it, then selecting Delete Comment.

February 2025

  • [TE] Team member invitation updates - we now allow Admins to select a new users' membership status (Paid/Free/Admin) and Team before sending an invite.

  • [TE] Updated sharing status on recordings - the lock/sharing status icons on My Calls have been updated for improved accuracy, providing a clearer view of each call's sharing status. Detailed logic for the icons and tooltips is also included.

  • [TE] Multi-team sharing on calls - we now have a "visible to multiple teams" option on individual recordings, making it easier than ever to share with the right team members. Learn more.

  • [TE] Folders tab - folders are now organized on their own tab, allowing for better visibility, sorting, and overall folder management. Learn more.

  • Free users can access advanced features on their first 5 calls per month - moving forward, we're gifting Free users 5 calls per month with Ask Fathom, Advanced AI Summaries, and AI Action Items. Learn more.

January 2025

  • Upgrades to recording embedding - recording embedding now offers the same experience as Highlight embedding when using share links.

  • [TE] New recording access restrictions - there is a new Team Setting to turn off the "Anyone with the link can view" option for recordings and folders on the Team. Once enabled, the user will be prompted to set the access level for any existing calls and folders that are set to "Anyone with the link can view."

  • Desktop app version update - Desktop App v1.37 was released to introduce some security upgrades.
