Need quick access to Fathom every time you open your Mac? Here are two easy ways to keep it visible:

1. Launch the Fathom Desktop App

2. Control + click the Fathom icon in your Dock

3. Select Options > Keep in Dock

1. Open System Settings > General > Login Items

2. Click + and choose Fathom from the Applications folder, or toggle Fathom on the list if it already appears

1. Locate the System Tray (bottom-right corner of your screen).

2. Look for the Fathom icon.

3. Click it to open the Fathom Desktop App Drawer.

   • From here, you can start or join your meetings directly.

If you don’t see the Fathom icon in your System Tray:

1. Open your Windows Search Bar.

2. Type “Fathom”.

3. Click the Fathom App to open it.

Once opened, the Fathom Desktop App will appear at the top center of your screen.

From here, you can:

• View and join your scheduled calls, or

• Start a recording using Capture Now (bot-free version), or

• Add Fathom manually to a meeting by pasting the meeting link (previous version).

Previous Version:

Bot-free version:

1. Paste your meeting link into the text field.

2. Fathom will automatically join the call for you.

Use Capture Now from the Fathom app tray / in-meeting panel to start capture.

Here’s what you can do in Settings in each version:

• View Recordings — Opens your list of recorded meetings.

• General Settings — Manage basic desktop app preferences.

• Notifications

  • Upcoming Meetings notification — Alerts you about upcoming meetings.

  • Auto-open on Join Meeting — Automatically opens the Fathom panel when you join a meeting.

  • Show upcoming meeting in toolbar — Shows/hides the “upcoming meeting” message in your toolbar.

• Privacy

  • Invisible when Screen Sharing — Hides the Fathom panel from screen shares.

• Optional Features

  • Real-Time Coaching — Enables/disables real-time coaching features.

• General

  • Auto-capture — Sets which meetings Fathom will prompt/prepare to capture by default.

  • Default capture mode — Sets the default capture type (ex: transcript-only).

  • Open Meetings in Desktop App — Automatically opens the meeting in the desktop app.

• Notifications

  • “Join Meeting” notification — Reminder to join your scheduled meeting.

  • “Capture Meeting” notification — Prompt to start capturing when a meeting is detected.

  • Show upcoming meeting in toolbar — Shows/hides the “upcoming meeting” message in your toolbar.

• Privacy

  • Invisible when screen sharing — Hides the Fathom panel from screen shares.

  • Automatically Detect Mute — Detects when you’re muted to improve capture experience.

• Compliance

  • Consent Chat Message — Sends/shows a consent message in the meeting chat (when enabled).

• Optional Features

  • Real-Time Coaching — Enables/disables real-time coaching features.

• More

  • Advanced Settings — Opens additional, advanced preferences.

  • Team Settings — Opens team-level settings (if available).
