How to Transfer Recordings to Another Account

Edited

Currently, Fathom does not support transferring or merging recordings between different accounts. Depending on your situation, there are a few ways to ensure your recordings remain accessible.

Option 1: Request an Email Change

If you want your recordings associated with a different email, you may be able to update your account email. The new email address must not already be registered with Fathom in order to initiate the email change process.

When to request an email change:

  • You’ve changed your work email after leaving the company

  • You want to use a personal email for continued access

  • You want to consolidate recordings under a new account

How to request an email change:

  1. Ensure the new email is not already linked to an active Fathom account.

  2. Submit a request using the email change form.

  3. Wait for confirmation from the Fathom team.

💡 Tip: Only one email change can be processed per account at a time, so double-check your new email before submitting.

Option 2: Team Edition Alternatives

Team Edition users managing recordings from a deactivated employee have extra options:

A. Share Recordings in Team Library

  • Add the deactivated user’s recordings to the team library so all team members can access them.

B. Email Change for Incoming User

  • Update the account to a new team member who does not have an active Fathom account yet.

💡 Note: Both options help maintain team access without transferring recordings between separate accounts.

Summary

Direct transfers between Fathom accounts are not possible. You can either:

  • Request an email change for your account, or

  • For Team Edition users, share recordings in the team library or change the email to a new team member.
